A 1975 graduate of Rutgers College in New Brunswick, New Jersey and a 1980 graduate of Rutgers School of Law – Camden, New Jersey, Mr. Detrick was admitted as a member of the Bar of the State of New Jersey and of the U.S. District Court in 1980. Mr. Detrick joined the firm of Apell and Detrick, then known as Apell and Mathews, in 1986 and became a partner in 1989. At present, he is the Vice-President of the Professional Corporation of Apell and Detrick, which includes his partners, Erwin D. Apell and Jeffrey S. Apell, and a capable staff of eight secretaries and paralegals.

Mr. Detrick has more than twenty-five years of experience with a wide variety of legal matters, including family law and divorce, personal bankruptcy, planning and zoning, and municipal court matters. He currently serves as Solicitor for the Zoning Board of Adjustment of Southampton Township, Burlington County, New Jersey, and is a longtime member of the New Jersey and Burlington County Bar Associations, and of the Association of New Jersey Planning Officials. Mr. Detrick is a lifelong resident of Burlington County and remains involved in many civic and community associations in the area.
